Autumn Leaves is going to Germany!

Dear friends and family,

I have some exciting news to share! From October 7–11, 2026, Autumn Leaves: A DNA Memoir will be on display at the Frankfurter Buchmesse (Frankfurt Book Fair) in Germany.

What is the Frankfurt Book Fair?

It's the largest book fair in the world, held every October in Frankfurt. Unlike a bookstore event, it's mainly a gathering for the publishing industry. Publishers, literary agents and translators come from around the globe to discover books and arrange to publish them in other countries and languages.

How is my book getting there?

Autumn Leaves will be shown at the booth of the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA), which represents independent authors and publishers from the United States. I won't be traveling to Frankfurt myself, but my book is making the trip for me.

What could this mean?

The hope is that a publisher from another country will be interested in translating Autumn Leaves into another language. There are no guarantees, but just having the book in front of so many international publishers is a meaningful step, and one I never imagined when I first sent in that DNA test.

Thank you!

None of this would be happening without you. Whether you've read the book, recommended it to a friend, or shared your own family stories with me, you've been part of this journey. Thank you for your support.

I'll share any news after the fair. In the meantime, if you know someone who would enjoy Autumn Leaves, I'd be grateful if you passed this along.

With gratitude,

Sharon Beth
